Active Lines
Over four weeks our students completed a ‘Wake Up and Shake Up’ active line movement challenge in the mornings.
This challenge was lead by our fantastic Active Playground Leaders in 6th Class. It was a great success and meant we all felt energised and alert heading to class in the morning!
Active Christmas
Along with the help of our brilliant Active Flag committee we decided to carry out a ‘Santa Dash’ Christmas jumper day, where as a school we set out to run over 2,000 laps of our school yards - needless to say this challenge was smashed! This was run on both the junior and senior sites of our school. The children also got to play some Christmas games and get involved in some fun activities. Christmas music was played on the yard for the whole school and everyone had a great time. A big thanks to our Active Flag Committee and helpers who helped organise the day and ensured it ran smoothly. We also ran a fundraiser for Down Syndrome Ireland which was a brilliant success.Active Halloween
We had a very active and busy Halloween event for our last Friday before our Midterm holidays. All the children and staff in St. Comán's Wood dressed up in costumes and we had a great time! We did a costume catwalk and parade and we finished off with some music and a disco on the yard. It was a great day!
Active School Flag: Movement Break Challenge 2023/2024
Here in St. Cománs Wood, we completed our four week movement break challenge on both our Junior and Senior sites. We had great fun doing a variety of activities such as dancing, running, walking and a variety of other exercises. We followed dance routines and exercise activities from GoNoodle, Just Dance and Joe Wicks. Here are some of our photos from some of the classes and activities.
